Educational Technology

We are surrounded by technology and the world is definantly full of new advances everyday. I found a definition I liked at http://www.bergen.org/technology/defin.html. It says: we use technology to control the world in which we live. Technology is people using knowledge, tools, and systems to make their lives better and easier. People use technology to improve their ability to do work. Through technology, people communicate better. Technology allows them to make more and better products. Our buildings are better through the use of technology. We travel in more comfort and speed as a result of technology. Technology is everywhere and can make life so much better.
Tecnology can motivate students and adults to work harder and better. Technolgy is so many things and so many ideas that no one definition can sum it all up and I think that's what makes everything work so well. A collection of ideas and methods to make people more successful.

Education Technology Vision

My vision for technology has changed so much over the past few years. I taught P.E. and coached so I rarely had any experience with technology other than submitting grades. With my current job I am always doing programming for the community and schools so I am constantly composing powerpoints. I send newsletters out to over 500 people and 4-Her's also. I also have a website that keeps everyone current on events happening in our county. One goal that I have for this class already is a blog for my 4-H kids. It would be an easy way to keep information current and I think I would get so much more feedback from the kids.
